Slow down! Slown down! Chemistry is Key- Miami Heat

Chemistry:

Everyone is just handing the title to Miami since their recent acquisitions. I feel this is way too premature. Chemistry & D is what builds champions in this league. Miami has improved immensely in certain key position. I still think Detroit, Indiana and San Antonio when fully healthy can give Miami a run.

Miami coasted to the Eastern Conference final with a solid 1-2 punch in Shaq and Wade. It was very similar and dynamic to the Shaq and Kobe combination that won 3 in a row. Now, Miami has added Walker and Williams to the team. The best addition to me is James Posey. Posey will provide hopefully that intangible that is not covered by stats and accolades in media. My book on Walker is that he is very intelligent baller with mutiple skills but for some reason another he has turned into a high-price over hyped journeymen. Walker has finally found his home. Miami needs defense. Everyone is hoping Shaq will be able to control his troops. Of course he will. The Big Daddy gets his respect. Jay-Will should adjust. Walker has not won at the high level. I know he will be inspired. This is most certainly there chance. Riley is really tring to push it together. They have 82 games to gel plus crunch-time playoffs is a long time.

Cohesiveness is the key in Basketball.

Everyone has to know their roles completely. Everyone can pretty much score in the association but can they defend consistently.

Indiana, Detroit and San Antonio defend with passion.

Miami was one game from the final last year. Simply, because they had the 1-2 punch no egos and chemistry. They had their scorer Wade. They had the Big Daddy down low. They had 3’s from Damon Jones. A nice contribution from Haslem . Eddie and Zo provided leadership and veteran play. Van Gundy coached hard & passionately. Wade was injured with the ribs and they lost as a result.

"Chemistry"

According to Merriam Webster Dictionary.

1 : a science that deals with the composition, structure, and properties of substances and with the transformations that they undergo

2 a : the composition and chemical properties of a substance b : chemical processes and phenomena (as of an organism)

3 : a strong mutual attraction, attachment, or sympathy

Miami must obtain chemistry before they are crowned champions

Thanks for the message, liked your site as well. Like you I think that
Posey's addition is under-rated and that'll be a huge part of the Heat
this season. I view him as being a younger version of EJ and someone that
can come off the bench and lock down players on D. Personally, I love that
the Heat can bring Zo and Posey off the bench for D, how sick will that
be?

I have to agree with everything said to this point. Miami looks like they have added all the right pieces, however just because the pieces fit in the puzzle doesn't make it a pretty picture.

Let's be real, how much defense does it take to win a championship? If you don't know the answer, we can ask teams like San Antonio, Detroit and Indiana. These are teams that would die before they would allow 2 uncontested points. So I have to ask this one question, does Miami play hard nosed defence for 48 minutes? NO.

I can say that Shaq plays defense, however only when he is required to do so. He serves more as a watch guard then anything else these days. He proven his point so often in the paint that most guys driving the lane opt out. Wade is a freak of nature, and plays good D(and imagine he's still getting better). Let's even say that Walker, Posey, and Zo all play the best defense of their careers this year. Miami will NEVER win a championship unless Jason Williams defends.

Jason Williams = exlax, from now on.

Everytime he plays, the opposing PGs eat him up and shit all over him. Don't get me wrong, Exlax does his work on the offesive end, but he is a living, breathing pilon.

Most low end PG, have really good nights against him. I don't even want to discuss the the middle and high end PG's.

K. McLeod- 15 pts, points 7 assists
S.Claxton- 22 pts, 8 assists, 5 reb
T Lue - 17 pts, 6 reb

Name the 3rd point guard, on any team, at the end of the bench, in the WNBA and they would score and distribute at will against "Exlax".

The bottom line is "Exlax" aka. Jason Williams gets abused as a defender in the NBA. And regardless of how much help defense you bring, it won't be enough against some of the high caliber teams ie(Pacers, Spurs and Pistons) in the NBA.
